As you know, January is dedicated to learning Ground Rules.
This week, our young learners have focused on essential skills that help maintain a respectful, organized, and safe classroom environment. These lessons support their independence and promote responsibility and cooperation with their peers.
Here’s what they’ve been learning:
1. How to Push and Pull the Chair
Learning the proper way to push and pull their chairs helps children maintain safety in the classroom. It also teaches them respect for shared spaces and the importance of keeping the environment tidy and orderly.
2. How to Queue
Our children have been practicing the importance of waiting their turn and standing in line patiently. Learning how to queue teaches respect for others and ensures that everyone can enjoy a fair and organized experience.
3. Wearing and Removing Shoes
Our little ones have been practicing the simple yet important task of putting on and taking off their shoes. This helps promote independence and personal responsibility, and ensures that everyone keeps the classroom clean and organized.
4. Using and Keeping the Pencil
We’ve been teaching the children how to use their pencils correctly and take care of them. By learning to hold their pencils properly and keep them safe, our students are developing fine motor skills and understanding the value of caring for their materials.
By practicing these fundamental rules, our young learners are building the foundation for a positive and respectful classroom culture. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow in independence and responsibility throughout the year!
